The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requires institutions to maintain a practice of regular program review including reporting on program level assessment. In order to meet this requirement, programs at SIU submit an annual assessment report.
The annual assessment report documents a program’s assessment activities, process, and results. A template is used in order for the institution to have a common format. The two main components are:
Assessment of Student Learning Outcomes - Document the assessment tools used to measure each of your student learning outcomes and the results of the assessment.
Curriculum or Program Changes - List curriculum or program changes resulting from your assessment.
Programs that have outside accreditation submit annual updates, if applicable, in place of the Annual Assessment Report.
